The Trust

Awards and achievements 2016

  • In January 2016 the trust took the title of ‘most innovative organisation’ at a Haelo conference in Manchester. The award was given for a 90-day improvement programme which focused on the delivery of enhanced care.
  • In April 2016, the trust’s GP Out-of-Hours service was rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC – both overall and in each of the five domains the CQC uses. The service had not been assessed as part of the trust’s earlier overall inspection.
  • In June the trust was named one of the CHKS 40 Top Hospitals for the sixth consecutive year.
  • In July 2016 the CQC published a review of health services for Children Looked After and Safeguarding in Cheshire East which contained significant positive feedback for East Cheshire NHS Trust services.
  • Also in July, the trust opened the new state-of-the-art Eagle Bridge Centre for Sexual Health in Crewe.
  • In November 2016 the trust received an NHS Improvement award for a nurse-led 90 day Infection Prevention and Control programme.
  • In the same month the trust and partners Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Chester were selected as one of just 11 sites nationally to trial the newly-created nursing associate role.
