Staff talkingThe Freedom of Information Act (2000) came into effect for all public authorities in January 2005. Since then, all requests for information have had to be answered in accordance with the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 or the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR). 

The Freedom of Information Act provides you with a general right of access to recorded information held by East Cheshire NHS Trust, subject to certain conditions and exemptions. 

We remain committed to promote a culture of openness and accountability to enable you to have a greater understanding of how we carry out our duties, how we make decisions and how we spend public money.

There are two ways to obtain information under FOI:

  • You can make a formal request in writing.
  • You can obtain information through our Publication Scheme.

Many visitors to our site find the search engine (on the top left of every page) helpful. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, or if you require information in hard copy form, please contact us.

Feedback can be made in writing or email to the Information Governance Manager at the above address.  Your feedback correspondence will be held in line with our retention policy and will be used only for the purpose of improving our FOI handling service. 

If you wish to formally request an internal review of a FOI request response, please note this will be carried out in line with our FOI Policy and Internal Review procedure.  The process is outlined in our written response to you.
