Tatton Ward

Following a 14 week public consultation East Cheshire NHS Trust Board has confirmed it will not be reopening the Tatton Ward at Knutsford District and Community Hospital – which has been non-operational since September 2010 – though community and outpatient services in the town will remain unaffected.

Improving your healthcare

East Cheshire NHS Trust provides services in hospital and in the community in patients’ homes in Knutsford, east Cheshire and surrounding areas. Our purpose is to ensure that we deliver those services in the place that best meets a patients’ needs and can provide the best outcomes for all.

Care at the Trust is provided in partnership with primary (your GP) and social care to deliver our services. We are committed to ensuring that our patients’ experience at the Trust is as good as it can possibly be.

Have your say

To continue to improve patient care we have to make decisions based on the needs of the majority of our patients. Tatton Ward at Knutsford District and Community Hospital is no longer able to meet our patients’ needs due to:

  • Old accommodation in need of modernisation
  • Reduced access to therapies and
  • Limited access to medical care.

We made the decision in September 2010 to temporarily close this facility due to these reasons. We are now proposing the permanent closure of this ward and the transfer of the service to Ward 10 at Macclesfield District General Hospital.

Foundation Trust

East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking to become a Foundation Trust during 2013.

This is an exciting time for East Cheshire NHS Trust. Becoming a NHS Foundation Trust will enable us to build on our strong track record of clinical excellence whilst developing much closer links with the people who matter most – the public in local communities and our staff.

Being a Foundation Trust will also enable us to further invest in and develop our services, so that we are able to provide the best care, treatment and facilities to our local population and to those beyond our geographical boundaries who may use our services now and in the future.

For more information and to become a member please visit our Foundation Trust page.
