What we do

We train, in our spare time, to be able to provide a military hospital capability to the Regular Army. To achieve this we have all the medical professionals you would expect in a busy emergency or trauma facility.  With all the support elements such as chefs, drivers, storemen, mechanics and the like.

Our training is varied and includes military skills, adventurous training (such as ski-ing, climbing, mountain biking etc.), clinical training, leadership training and, most importantly, teambuilding.

After the return from our tour of Afghanistanin Jan 2011 we have been busy within our local community. We had a homecoming parade in Bury when the Operational Service Medals were presented. Colonel Kerry Trow, our Commanding Officer, has recently visited all the NHS trusts that had released staff on our deployment, to present an Army Medical Services picture to show our appreciation for their support.

We had the honour to receive the freedom of both the Borough of Trafford and the City of Manchester. We have also been busy participating in various events such as the joint NHS Military Trauma conference at The University Hospital of South Manchester.

We are looking forward to our annual training camp this year, which will be held in Germany. It will consist of a number of military and adventure training activities.
