Finance Department

The Finance Department at the trust provides a variety of services to ensure that the hospital operates efficiently and effectively. 

It deals with managing income and contracts with commissioners, supporting budget holders to control costs and implement improvements as well as making sure the trust's bank accounts and financial services are appropriately managed. The Finance Department also provides information for board reports, business unit performance updates and statutory returns to the Department of Health.

The NHS has been tasked by the Government to achieve savings totalling £20 billion pounds over the next four years. In keeping with this directive, East Cheshire NHS Trust is constantly seeking ways of effectively reducing and managing its own costs.

As a result of economic pressures, there will be reductions in the trust’s non-pay budgets for the next financial year and as a result the trust is unable to accept any annual price increases from its current contracted suppliers.

The trust is committed to forging strong working relationships with its contractors and welcomes any initiatives or ideas for effective cost management.
