The Haematology Team specialises in the care of people with blood disorders, some of which may be cancer and others may not. The team is part of the multidisciplinary health care team who visit patients on the wards, in outpatient departments and if appropriate, in their own homes.
The team provides information, education, advice and support for patients, their families and carers, from diagnosis onwards on areas covering all different types of haematological disorders: benign and malignant.
The team includes:
| Name | Title | Number |
| Dr John Hudson | Consultant Haematologist | 01625 661806 |
| Jane Derbyshire | Personal Secretary | 01625 661801 |
| Yvette Ibbotson | Clinical Nurse Specialist | 01625 663228 |
This service is for any patient who has a suspected or diagnosed haematological disorder. The nurse specialist can also provide advice and support for family and carers. This service is also available for other health professionals to access for information and to provide a seamless pathway of care for the patient.
This service is available from Monday – Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. There is an answer phone available at all other times. Please contact the haematology nurse specialist if you have any worries or concerns. The nurse specialist is able to contact any member of the multidisciplinary team who are involved in your care on your behalf.
