The Orthopaedic Unit at the East Cheshire NHS Trust is committed to provide high standards of quality care. The unit has two wards – Ward 5 and 6.
Ward 5 is on the upper level and has 28 beds, the speciality of this area is caring for patients with orthopaedic trauma (accidental) injuries.
This 28 bedded ward is split into rooms which have three to four beds in each one, there are three side rooms and every room has en-suite facilities.
Ward 6 is on the lower level and has 22 in patient beds and six day case beds. This is where patients who are having a planned operation are admitted to for their treatment. This 28 bedded ward is split into rooms which have three or four beds in each one, there are three side-rooms, and every room has en-suite facilities. Although the ward looks after both male and female patients we only put patients of the same sex in each of the larger rooms.
Our nurses work in teams, with each team having both trained nurses and health care assistants working together to give our patients continuous care.
Our nursing team is supported by a variety of specialists who’s ultimate aim is to provide your care in a comfortable, clean and friendly environment.
