Clinical Pharmacy Services

The Pharmacy Department at East Cheshire NHS Trust is committed to the provision of high quality services. All medical and surgical wards receive a daily visit from a clinical pharmacist and a pharmacy technician to provide patient-focused pharmaceutical care.

Pharmacists participate on consultant ward rounds including cardiology, respiratory medicine, care of the elderly, intensive care unit and ortho-geriatrics. There is significant clinical input to the Medical Admissions Ward including attendance on the post-take ward round.

A number of our pharmacists are active independent prescribers in clinical areas such as the pre-operative assessment clinic, intensive care unit and the medical admissions ward.

Our portfolio of clinical services also includes the provision of pharmaceutical care to a local hospice, intermediate care home and we also operate a hospital patient discharge follow-up service.
