Basic Wound Care

Who should attend: Health Care Workers who wish to develop their skills in the assessment and management of simple wounds.

What will I learn: This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to effectively assess and manage simple wounds.

Course Content:

  • Anatomy and physiology in relation to the wound healing process
  • Classification of wound types
  • How the wound healing process is effected by disease and co-morbidities
  • Holistic assessment of a patient with a wound
  • Rationale for using a wound assessment tool and products to provide optimal wound management
  • The clinician’s role and related responsibilities in effective wound care management
  • Importance of effective documentation
