Grateful couple use sheepdog trials event to raise £1,200 for maternity services at Macclesfield Hospital
05 August 2019

A local family from the farming community were so grateful for the care they received from the trust’s Maternity Department, they organised a fundraising sheepdog trials event which raised an incredible £1,200 for ECHO.

Adam and Jo Ledgar wanted to do something to recognise the “fantastic” staff in the department who they said went “above and beyond” to care for Jo following the birth of her second child Marley in January 2018. Jo was very poorly but said the care she received was excellent and staff even came in on their days off to see her.

The Macclesfield couple used the contacts in the local farming community to organise the sheepdog event, which also included cake auction and other fundraising activities. Adam said: “I imagine a lot of money was spent looking after us so we wanted to give a bit back!”
