Contractors donate Christmas tree to Trust

8 December 2025

A construction company who work closely with East Cheshire NHS Trust have generously donated a Christmas tree for the second year running.

City Build have worked on numerous projects at the Trust over recent years including the Elective Treatment Centre and the refurbishment of the Accident and Emergency Department.

The donated tree is just outside the main entrance of Macclesfield District General Hospital and was lit this week with Ged Murphy, Chief Executive, Aislinn Dwyer, Chair, Rob Few, Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities and Toby Rexstraw, Director at City Build.

Andrew Field, Business Manager at City Build, said: “We’re very pleased to support Macclesfield Hospital again this year.

“City Build has been delivering projects at the hospital for several years, and during that time we’ve built strong relationships with the Estates and Capital teams and the wider Trust.

“Donating the Christmas tree is a small way for us to give something back and to show our appreciation for the fantastic work your staff do, especially at this time of year.

“As a business, we always aim to deliver meaningful social value in the communities where we work, and we feel that contributing to your festive celebrations is a positive way to support staff, patients, and visitors.”
