Following the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections that took place in July 2025; the final reports for Urgent & Emergency Care, Medicine and Maternity will be published on 30th January 2026.
The Trust welcomes the findings from the CQC, which will play a valuable part in helping us to make improvements to the services we provide to our local population.
We are pleased to see that our Maternity Services retained their rating of ‘Good’. The CQC noted:
“Maternity staff received overwhelmingly positive feedback from women and their families who felt supported and treated with dignity and respect throughout their stay."
“There were clear safeguarding systems in place to protect people from abuse, and we saw examples of safeguarding and multi-agency working during our visit.”
We recognise that there is further work to be done to improve both our Medical and Urgent and Emergency Services, which have both been rated as ‘requires improvement’. However, the CQC described staff as “...kind and compassionate staff working hard in medical and urgent and emergency services...”
We remain fully committed to delivering the highest standards of quality care and with continued dedication from all of us, the involvement of patients, families and carers.
The report will be published on CQC's website.
