Colleagues in our Emergency Department (ED) received a welcome boost last Monday (5th October) as the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) visited with fresh coffee, fruit, cookies and cakes to thank them for their hard work and dedication.
RRT is a charitable organisation that provides catering assistance and support to charities, government organisations and emergency services.
The visit was part of RRT’s A&E Appreciation Week, a nationwide initiative that saw 115 welfare events take place across the UK, serving more than 10,000 coffees and cakes to hardworking Emergency Department teams.
The initiative aims to give frontline colleagues a chance to pause, recharge and feel appreciated for the vital work they do every day.
RRT worked closely with Lauren Ford, Unit Manager in ED, to ensure the volunteers could fit seamlessly into the department without disrupting patient care.
