The British Medical Association has announced planned strike action in England with a walkout of Junior Doctors from 7am on Saturday 24th February to 11.59pm on Wednesday 28th February.
Please refer to the statement on the BMA website for further information, here: https://www.bma.org.uk/bma-media-centre/junior-doctors-in-england-announce-new-strike-dates-after-government-rejects-gesture-of-goodwill-by-the-bma
As a result, we are expecting that a number of Junior Doctors that work at East Cheshire NHS Trust will be on strike during this time.
To maintain patient safety, we may have to postpone non-urgent routine appointments so that our clinical teams can prioritise emergency and urgent care. Due to the short notice, we will be contacting patients who are affected by phone and rescheduling appointments at the same time.
We appreciate that this will be frustrating, but it’s unavoidable in order for the Trust to maintain patient safety by prioritising inpatients and emergency care. In the event of the strike being cancelled we would encourage you to remain as flexible as possible with your time as we may be able to reinstate your appointment.
Thank you to all staff, patients, and service users for your co-operation during this extremely challenging time.
