Local bands to unite with ‘Evening of Rock Music’ in aid of East Cheshire NHS Charity

5 September 2025

A Macclesfield Hospital consultant is bringing together colleagues, musicians, and the local community for a night of live music in support of East Cheshire NHS Charity.

Jochen Fischer, Consultant Orthopaedic and Upper Limb Surgeon, is swapping scrubs for drumsticks as he leads his band, the Imperial Bees, in a special fundraising event at Broken Cross Social Club this September.

Jochen said: “We're thrilled to be organising this event and to support such an important cause.

“East Cheshire NHS Charity plays a crucial role in supporting our local healthcare services to help them go above and beyond for patients, families and staff.

“I’d encourage the community to get involved and attend this event as it's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy live music while making a meaningful contribution."

The event, titled ‘An Evening of Rock Music’, will also feature support from fellow Macclesfield-based band The Filters, promising an eclectic mix of melodic groove rock and high-energy performances, and all funds raised going towards improving patient experience and staff wellbeing.

Formed during the pandemic, the three-piece band—made up of Jochen, his wife and guitarist Sabine, and fellow guitarist Joe Wolverson—has grown into a creative outlet and one of Macclesfield’s most intriguing bands.

Taking place on Sunday 7th September, tickets are priced at £18, including food from Henry’s Café. Doors open at 5.30pm, with music starting at 6pm.
