The cobblestones of Mill Street are set to sizzle once again as the town prepares for the return of its most eccentric tradition.
On Tuesday 17th February 2026, the Macclesfield Pancake Race will see local workers, students, and community groups ditching the office for a bit of mid-day mayhem, all to raise vital funds for East Cheshire NHS Charity.
Starting at midday, teams of four will go head-to-head in a high-speed relay, navigating the street while successfully flipping their pancakes.
Registration is now open at £40 per team of four. Organisations are encouraged to enter multiple teams to fuel some friendly local rivalry.
Every penny raised goes directly to East Cheshire NHS Charity, providing the added extras that make a world of difference for patients and colleagues at Macclesfield District General, Knutsford Community, and Congleton War Memorial Hospitals. From state-of-the-art medical equipment to enhanced patient facilities, the race helps the Trust go the extra mile.
Fundraising Manager for East Cheshire NHS Charity, Lily Preston said: "The Pancake Race has become a cornerstone of our fundraising calendar.
“It’s a brilliant way for the Macclesfield community to come together, have a laugh, and provide tangible support to the healthcare services we all rely on.”
Local radio station Silk FM will also be on hand to keep the energy high and the crowds entertained throughout the afternoon. Businesses looking to boost their local profile are also invited to get in touch regarding sponsorship opportunities to help maximize the charity’s impact.
Teams can secure their spot by filling out the online registration form here or by contacting the fundraising team directly.
