East Cheshire NHS Trust is celebrating the arrival of a fleet of new patient transport chairs, funded by East Cheshire NHS Charity.
The upgraded chairs designed for comfort, safety, and ease of movement will make a meaningful difference to patients who need support travelling to appointments, wards, and departments across the hospital.
Dr John Hunter, Chief Medical Officer at the Trust, joined by Director of Corporate Governance, Laura Leadsom, went to see the new chairs in use for the first time and look at the impact the investment will have on daily patient care.
The new chairs are already being put to good use helping colleagues including our volunteers work more efficiently and ensuring patients feel supported from the moment they arrive.
Dr Hunter said: “We’re very grateful for both the hard work the Charity puts into raising the money to fund important projects like this, and the kindness and generosity of all those who’ve donated.
“This kind of support really is so important in helping us provide the best service we can for our patients, and it’s amazing to see how these donations make a real difference in helping patients feel more comfortable during their hospital stay.”
Lily Preston, Fundraising and Events Manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity, said: “We’re really pleased to have these new patient transport chairs, which significantly enhance the quality of service we provide to our patients.
“The chairs are in use practically every hour of every day, and it’s great to see people’s kind donations making such a meaningful difference to patient comfort and care.”
