Staff at East Cheshire NHS celebrate 500 years combined service with special awards

A special celebratory event has been held at Macclesfield Hospital for staff who have completed 20 years of continuous service to East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT).

As many as 26 staff with more than 500 years of combined service were presented with their awards by Chief Executive Ged Murphy.

Director of People and Culture Rachael Charlton and Emma Newton, Deputy Director of People and Culture were also present to offer their congratulations.

Reverend John Buckley, who was celebrating 20 years with the trust, said: “This is a very caring trust. This isn't just my observation, but it is what patients say time and time again to me.”

The long-serving staff included Healthcare Assistants, Medical Secretaries, Physiotherapists and Pharmacists.

Ged Murphy, Chief Executive at East Cheshire NHS Trust said: “It was a real privilege to attend this event and I want to say a big thank you to all those colleagues who received awards. Your continued dedication to the trust and the NHS is so appreciated.”

Carl Miller, Business Manager for Medical Specialities, was also celebrating 20 years with the trust and added; “I started on medical records. There’s lots of opportunity to move around the trust and I’ve had support through my degree too.

“It doesn’t feel like 20 years for me but I’m sure it does for everyone else!”Group 1.jpg​​​​​​​
