East Cheshire NHS Trust’s Stoma Team is launching a new Stoma Support Group, with the first meeting taking place on Thursday 30th April from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
The session will be held at Prestbury Village Hall and is open to anyone living with a stoma, along with their family members and carers.
The group has been established to offer a relaxed, social environment where people can connect away from a clinical setting.
Whilst medical care is essential, the process of adjusting to life with a stoma is often helped by talking to others who have similar daily experiences.
The meetings are designed to be informal and welcoming for everyone, whether they have recently had surgery or have been managing a stoma for many years. It is a straightforward opportunity to meet others who understand the practicalities of stoma care in a friendly atmosphere.
Members of the Trust’s Stoma Team will be at the meeting to provide professional support and answer any questions in a comfortable, social space.
No appointment or booking is needed. Please feel free to drop in, and for any further information or questions, please contact the team by emailing ecn-tr.Stoma@nhs.net.
