Kath Rose and Nat Keenan.pngTwo members of East Cheshire NHS Trust’s Research Team were recently recognised at the Greater Manchester Health and Care Research Awards.

Taking place at the Ethiad Stadium in Manchester, Lead Research Nurse, Natalie Keenan was Highly Commended in Exceptional Research Delivery, whilst Research Nurse, Katherine Rose was runner up in the New to Research Award category.

Natalie has worked at the Trust for eight years as a Senior Research Nurse and has been involved in a variety of research activity including paediatrics, infectious diseases and physiotherapy.

Commended for her Exceptional Research Delivery Leadership, she said: “To be nominated and shortlisted was a privilege, but to be highly commended is a honour.

“It may be an individual award but really it is a team effort and is a great representation on the way we work as a team.”

Research Nurse, Katherine, has been with the Trust for four years and manages respiratory trials in her role.

After receiving runner up in the New to Research category she said: “It was a delight to attend the NIHR award ceremony and be recognised at regional level.

“This has given me a real boost to forge ahead with my career in research.”

This year’s awards marked its tenth anniversary, at which organisations who delivered or enabled the delivery of NIHR-funded research (called NIHR CRN Portfolio research) are celebrated for strides made in health and care research.

Lorraine Jackman, Director of Corporate Affairs and Governance, said: ‘We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Research team who are making significant progress in research that is benefiting services across the whole Trust.

“It is especially exciting to be recognised at these prestigious awards, and we’re looking forward to seeing more success in the future as the team work together to support our ambition to provide the best patient care possible.”
