Apprenticeships - Staff Stories

Meet Harry, Administration Apprentice within the Professional Practice Team. Harry has been in post since April 2018 and is studying for his NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service.

Harry applied for the apprentice role to strengthen his skills and to gain professional experience working for the NHS. He viewed East Cheshire NHS Trust as a great place to work, with lots of benefits on offer and opportunities for progression.

Harry says that the job is very varied and no two working days are the same. His responsibilities range from assisting with training courses; meeting and greeting candidates, producing course materials and helping with office tasks, to participating in recruitment events for the Trust at local school schools and colleges. Harry has found his colleagues extremely supportive, warm and welcoming and he feels he has gained a lot of self-confidence and experience in the work place.

Harry highly recommends the Apprenticeship programme, especially if you are unsure what career path you would like to take. Applying for an Apprenticeship role is ideal as you learn so much and develop many adaptable skills.

Meet Lauren, our Business Administration Apprentice who is currently working in our Recruitment Team. Lauren has been in post since April 2018 and is studying for her NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration.

Lauren applied for the apprentice role to strengthen her skills and learn new things and viewed East Cheshire NHS Trust as a great place to work, with lots of benefits on offer and opportunities for her to progress in her career. She loves the fact that no work day is the same; one day she can be publishing adverts and helping with tasks in the office and another day she can be out of the office assisting with Doctors interviews. She has found her colleagues extremely supportive, warm and welcoming. They have also helped her gain confidence and experience in the work place.

Lauren highly recommends the Apprenticeship programme to others as if you’re not completely sure what career path you want to take, applying for an Apprenticeship role is ideal as you learn so much and develop so many adaptable skills. Her aim is to progress to a Recruitment Advisor and keep developing in her career with a great team.
