The purpose of healthcare library and knowledge services is to:
- Provide knowledge and evidence to enable excellent healthcare and health improvement
- Use the expertise of their staff to ensure that NHS bodies, staff, learners, patients and the public have the right knowledge and evidence, when and where they need it.
(Health Education England: Knowledge for healthcare: a development framework 2015-2020)
The Library & Knowledge Service (LKS) supports all staff and students across the Trust to make evidence based decisions to support patient care, develop guidelines, provide patient information and to make informed clinical and non-clinical decisions.
The Library & Knowledge Service also supports continuing professional development through a range of tailored training & study skills support, current awareness bulletins, assistance with research and the provision of a range of resources.
